Alcatel Submarine Networks UK Ltd honoured with prestigious Queen’s Award for International Trade 2022

Founded in 1983 and based in London, Alcatel Submarine Networks UK Ltd (ASN) is wholly owned subsidiary of a French parent Company Alcatel Submarine Networks SAS, part of the Nokia Group. Historically the Greenwich site has been the key manufacturer of subsea telecoms equipment since the 1850's and manufactured the first successful transatlantic cable.
It has evolved to follow technology improvements and innovations to be at the forefront of today’s global backbone network providers. It provides the core equipment for turnkey global undersea transmission systems, tailored to customer’s needs (telecoms and GAFAM) and is the Centre of Excellence for the manufacture of all the Groups opto-electronic equipment. The systems it supplies span several geographic regions, North and South America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Australia, each linking several continents and regions. Its global market share is currently over 33% meaning ASN is the number 1 provider in this industry. Its overseas sales increased over three years by a total of 118.4%.

ASN is one of 226 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Announced today (Thursday 21 April), ASN has been recognised for its excellence in International Trade for Outstanding Short Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years.
