On June 24, 2022, a new submarine cable maintenance vessel, the Ile de Molène, will be inaugurated in Calais and will join the ASN (Alcatel Submarine Networks) fleet.
Alain Biston, President of ASN and Natacha Bouchart, Mayor of Calais and Vice-President of the Hauts-de-France Region will kick off this day at the Quai Paul Devot in Calais to which 150 personalities have been invited to attend the christening of the ship.
The Ile de Molène will be assigned to the maintenance of our customers' submarine telecommunication cables. It will enter service at the end of the second quarter of 2022.
Major engineering and upgrading programs have been carried out on this vessel to enable it to best meet its future maintenance missions and the various needs of ASN's customers.
This vessel will be equipped with the latest generation of equipment and instruments to ensure the expected level of performance and efficiency required for its various missions.
Ile de Molène will be operated by Louis Dreyfus Armateurs under the French flag.
By the end of 2022, ASN Marine's cable fleet will consist of 7 vessels.
