Press Release - Climate Change

Paris - September 29, 2020

Climate change is one of the major challenges that our society as a whole is facing today. Aware of the risks associated with climate change, ASN is evolving and acting to respond accordingly and contribute to the global momentum.

ASN, a mature company

ASN has always been a company recognized for the high quality and reliability of its systems, from design to the laying of submarine cables. Our desire is to always better meet the requirements and expectations of our customers. That's why, with the support of our HSE Department, we have placed the subjects of security, human rights and climate change at the center of our discussions.

An important challenge in our strategy

These considerations concern all of our activities. In order to limit the impact of ASN activities on the environment, we have launched several major projects, such as the rejuvenation of our fleet of vessels (with the replacement of the Peter Faber by the Ile d'Ouessant), the modernization of our plants, and the introduction of new products in our portfolio, such as DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing), which enable new applications to be offered to our customers.

Our entire portfolio will benefit from this new "CC" (Climate Change) philosophy to propose dedicated applications such as TEWS (tsunami early warning system), monitoring of underwater seismic activity, global warming, and water temperature and level.

From now on, tackling climate change is an intrinsic part of our strategy and will drive our decisions.

This approach will also be a catalyst for innovation and investment in the years to come.

A collective action

Given the importance of this challenge, collaboration with our customers and partners is the way to achieve the greatest impact. Come talk to ASN about it.
